Анри, коммивояжер средних лет, смертельно устал от семейных уз. Супруга придерживается строгих пуританских взглядов, дети отбились от рук и ни в грош не ставят отца. Лишь две отдушины скрашивают жизнь нашего героя: работа, благодаря которой он много путешествует по стране, и хобби — живопись. Анри является большим поклонником обнаженной женской натуры и мечтает найти в поездках свою музу и натурщицу.
